An Iwi planning document to articulate the collective vision and aspirations of
Ngai Te Rangi, Ngati Pukenga and Ngati Ranginui in relation to Tauranga Moana
(including the Harbour,surrounding lands and waters) .

About The Plan

A joint Iwi Management Plan prepared by, and for, Ngāi Te Rangi, Ngāti Ranginui and Ngāti Pūkenga. It is the collective voice; calling to encourage kotahitanga (unity) to take a shared interest in and responsibility for the health and wellbeing of Tauranga Moana (including the Harbour, surrounding lands and waters). We all benefit if Tauranga Moana is healthy.

  • Any planning document prepared by Ngāi Te Rangi, Ngāti Ranginui and Ngāti Pūkenga or associated hapū e.g. Iwi or Hapū Management Plan.

Developing The Plan

This Plan replaces the 2008 Te Awanui Tauranga Harbour Iwi Management Plan. However, it includes a wider scope (e.g. coastal marine area) and takes into account a post treaty settlement landscape. Aspirations and issues identified during engagement with Tauranga Moana Iwi and Hapu in 2015/16 have formed the backbone of the policies and actions within the Plan. The consultation summary report, hui presentations etc. are available in the reference documents.
